Beyond the Hoop has a very qualified and dedicated Board of Directors. The Board meets regularly to assure the quality of the program. The big ideas are born at these meetings, but also carefully planned and delegated. Meet the Board on this page.
Kenny Robinson
One of the original founders of Beyond the Hoop, Inc. Kenny Robinson is the former chief financial officer of Apex Technology, Inc.
He is currently the executive director of Beyond the Hoop, Inc. and runs the Bull Dawg Athletic Training, LLC, which specializes in training and conditioning basketball athletes.
He is a nationally certified conditioning coach and has been coaching and training athletes for the past 15 years. He has a degree in accounting from Bowie State University and has worked in the accounting field for over twenty years

Steve Thumb
As one of the founders of Beyond The Hoop, in addition to stressing basketball fundamentals and strategy, Steve has focused on the importance of academics to succeed in life.
His personal focus on academics (he holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, a Certificate in Nuclear Engineering, a Masters in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant) has led to a highly successful
career in the oil and gas industry. He is now a recognized energy
consultant, and has provided expert testimony to the U.S. Congress,
commissions, and lectures.

Karen Thumb
Karen Thumb has worked in corporate finance for approximately twenty-five years and holds a Bachelor of Science from Tulane University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Karen is an executive with Fannie Mae in Washington , D.C. She has been significantly involved in charitable organizations since a teenager and has been involved with Beyond the Hoop since its origin.

Carolyn Myles
Carolyn Myles is a marketing consultant, columnist, and professional writer with more than 20 years of experience working in Canada and the United States. She was a Washington correspondent for PR WEEK and co-authored the longest-running marketing column which appeared in the Washington Business Journal and Washington Times.
She has developed and managed communication programs for a wide
variety of clients, including DuPont, Head Racquet Sports, Ford, Edison
Electric Institute and the U.S. Mint. She served on the boards of the
YMCA of Metropolitan Washington and currently sits on their
Communications and Public Policy Committee, the New Media Society and
the Canadian-American Business Council.

Bruce Ryan
Bruce is an attorney who has practiced corporate and regulatory law in
Washington, DC for over 25 years. He graduated from Indiana University and
George Washington University Law School, and is currently a partner with a
leading international law firm.
He chairs Beyond the Hoop's Sports Committee, which oversees administration
of its basketball teams and development program. He is also actively
involved with the organization's educational, fundraising and other
charitable missions.

Tammy Kneifl
Tammy is our in house athletic trainer, she has been training clients successfully since her graduation from Nebraska University's Exercise Science Program in 1999.
She was the Fitness Director for Washington Golf and Country Club and has completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at George Washington University. Tammy specializes in working with individuals with health issues, but is right at home working with young and older athletes.
